Sol Lewitt
Sol Lewitt is a modernist, minimalist and conceptual artist. He was one of the first artists to formally define Conceptual Art as a phenomenon. He has often said that beauty was not the point of his art, but I think his art defines the word.

Best known for his wall art, he remained constant in his themes throughout his career: geometric and repetitive shapes, timeless childlike constructs on paper or in “structures”.

Ice as Art
I have never seen anything more beautiful in my life.
We all know our polar ice caps are melting at an incredibly fast rate, but look how utterly magnificent they are!

Sculpty World of Meredith
Are you serious?! These clay sculpture worlds are truly works of art. So intricate and incredibly innovative ideas...
I am in awe of her handy skills.
With an education in computer science, a career in interactive design, a compulsive need to create, and a drive to follow her passions, Meredith Dittmar is one to watch and closely follow.

Dittmar’s dioramas are psychedelic amalgams of nature, humans and technology. Each 3D masterpiece blends these three themes together in a psychedelic way that I find absolutely captivating.

Attack of the Goldfish
Sandy Skoglund's desire to document conceptual ideas led her to teach herself photography. This, along with her interest in popular culture and commercial picture making strategies, helped her create some of the most stunning and interesting photographs Ive seen.

She creates surrealist images by building elaborate sets and furnishing them with carefully selected colored furniture and other objects, a process of which takes her months to complete.
Finally, she photographs the set, complete with actors. The works are characterized by an overwhelming number of a repeating objects, and her color palette of either bright, contrasting colors or a monochromatic color scheme.

The many Spines of Mike Stilkey
"Well, at the time it seemed like 10,000, but I think it was closer to 5,000 books. The complete installation took me ten days, from start to finish. When I arrived at the gallery on the first day, I looked at the 16' by 44' wall and wondered what I had gotten myself into. I guess I needed that sort of anxiety to propel me through the next week and a half." California-based artist Mike Stilkey paints images on the bindings of books. Awesome.

Re-invention

Hoda Baroudi and Maria Hibri are the founders and designers of Bokja Furniture, based out of Beirut. Named after the Turkish word for an embellished velvet wrapping of treasures, they carry vibrant upholstered found furniture and I wish I owned it all. They use vintage Middle Eastern fabric to create some of the most unique pieces I have ever seen.

You can find these amazing pieces at ABC Carpet, 888 Broadway New York City
